On health care ...

Health care vote doesn't take place until fall.

Mass rallies in the meantime.

Obama lies. Senator calls him out on it. Senator chooses really horrible time to do so. But something needs to be done. We have people in this country who are being denied health coverage WHO WANT TO PAY THEIR OWN BILLS!

In the meantime ... in Utah County, according to a Daily Herald opinion poll, about half of parents had a problem with their kids watching an address to school children by the president of the United States.

Herbert declares he will do his best to NOT follow the widely popular Huntsman's policies.

"Liberals take our money..." Yadda. Yadda. Yadda.

"Conservatives take our rights..." Yadda. Yadda. Yadda.

The only emotion left when I finish reading the newspaper is frustration.

I feel conflicted ... judicially conservative ... politically liberal ... financially moderate. What's a voter to do?

Is anyone else feeling all angsty about politics this time of year?

Yeah, but isn't our country great? All these opinions, all this drama. I love it. Its times like these when I miss working at a newspaper

Um yes. I'm much like you conservative on some issues and liberal on others.

I'm so sick of it... I am a registered independent for this reason. Democrats and Republicans just bicker, never solving anything

Behind the scenes, before legislation is tampered with by legislators, there are some wonderful ideas going down on paper.

Converse with a legislative aide of a member on the heath care committee and they can lay down a plan both realistic and effective and politically appealing.

I truly believe this country has a shot. Democracy hasn't failed us yet. But career politicians are so overburdened with obligations to special interests--regardless of their party affiliation-- that for as long as voters continue placing them there, especially for vexatious reasons such as "because I hate the guy who allows abortions" or "because he was so sweet when he came to my grandfather's funeral" we're all going to end up screwed over. Afterall, highway funding has never been a long term solution, but it will get you re-elected.
